Significant Coaching with Matt Rogers

Episode #17: Marco Azurdia

Matt Rogers Season 1 Episode 17

Marco Azurdia was named the Executive Director of the NWAC (Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges) in 2012 after a decorated career as a Head Women's Basketball for 20+ years at Napa Valley Community College (CA) and Wenatchee Valley Community College (WA).

He walked away from his coaching career with 220 victories and seven 20-win seasons including one season where his team won a remarkable 29 games.

Before moving into his present leadership role, he was named the North Central Washington Female Team Coach of the Year and Female Team Coach of the Decade.

My conversation with Marco was a perfect example that you are never too old or too experienced to learn new things. I have learned a ton from him in a short amount of time. He is a wealth of information and our talk will definitely help many aspiring student-athletes and their families. Enjoy!
